Rice Cooker Pinto Beans

Ingredients:
2 1/3 Cups Dried Pinto Beans
3 6 inch Slices of Ham (3mm thick)
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
Black Pepper To Taste
Garlic Powder To Taste
Minced Onions To Taste

Water bath beans, pick out any that need discarding.

Place in large enough sauce pan so that you can have 1 - 1 1/2 inches of water above beans. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 20 minutes, turn off and let rest for 30 minutes.

Place entire contents of Sauce Pan in Rice Cooker. Add enough water to cover beans by 1 1/2 inches (depends on how much broth you want).

Press Power/Keep Warm Button to turn on cooker then touch Slow Cook twice close lid. After you see steady steam coming from vent open lid and place pizza pan over beans. Also check your water level. Every 15 mins stir and check water level. Add Baking Soda after 30 minutes of cooking. After 1 hour add other ingredients.

While beans are cooking brown ham and make ham broth. Cut ham up and add it along with ham broth.
